Discover the awa experience is made possible by the leadership and knowledge tangata whenua, whose deep connection to the Awa (river) and Whenua (land) guides us. 3 experiences in one day, join Whanganui Tours for a Mail Tour that includes morning tea, a two-hour cycle with a lunch option, then finishing with a two-hour canoe trip starting at Koriniti, where we’ll take you through the heart of the Whanganui River. We welcome Manuhiri (visitors) from across Aotearoa and the world to hear our stories, share in Manaakitanga (hospitality), and experience the beauty of our Te Awa Tupua.  Min 5 persons

  • See how the mail gets delivered in rural New Zealand, with all the connections that matter and beautiful scenic views

  • Koriniti Marae Visit

  • Start cycling for 2 hrs from the old convent at Jerusalem/Hiruharama(with the stories of local Māori, Mother Aubert & James K Baxter) Morning tea before you start.

  • Visit Historical sites along the way

  • Optional lunch stop at Matahiwi cafe.

  • Canoe 2 hrs from Koriniti to Atene through Whanganui National Park.

  • Be inspired by the route the Mountains to Sea Cyclists and Te Araroa Walkers traverse
